The Board of the Raohe Street Tourist Night Market was reformed from its original “Committee of Community Development” and has a 20 years history since its establishment on May 11th, 1987. The Board elects 23 representatives which including chairman, supervisors, managing directors, and commissioners every 3 years. Every year on May 5th, the board holds an annual anniversary celebration. During the past year, the board has installed civilian video security systems, customer broadcasting service systems, enforced regular fire-fighting drills, and installed extinguishers in each night market store. The board also enthusiastically participated in the five-year plan to improve vender services which were part of the Business Modernization Plan organized by The Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs. Despite various difficulties, the board reconstructed the uneven height corridor to an access free pedestrian sidewalk. These achievements have driven the Raohe Street Night Market toward a business modernization model.
